OK so we all know the saying ‘The Devil is in the details‘ and when discussing fashion it couldn’t be more true. Sometimes a tiny bit of color, a ring, a lipstick shade or statement a bag makes all the difference in an outfit and can turn a look from the most boring unnoticed one into the most glamorous, fashion forward or edgy one. As we quickly (and quite tired too) wrap yet another Fashion Month season – I AGAIN turn to the street styles spotted in the fashion capitals. Truth is, after watching all these shows and collections you can’t not get a bit bored with it all. It’s repetitive. Sure we’re all dying to see our fave designers but by the time Paris comes, I have to confess I’m a bit checking my watch rather than checking the catwalk. Thank God we’ve got the street styles to break the routine. A bit of fashion inspiration never hurt anyone so for a mid-week I say let us indulge into some opulent and luxurious details that put the exclamation point into style! Starting off: Fabulous Shoes! cause you can’t walk in anything else than uber funky & sexy heels, right? Though the kitten & chunky heels are huge today, can’t seem to quite get the hang of them. I mean chunky heels are great and comfy, so them… I love. But kittens… hmm. Still debating. How we gonna carry all our phones, makeups, books and snacks? Why in a super cool Bag, of course! I’m noticing lots of posh ladies are donning the tiny bags… I can work with that… For weekends, going out, but if you have to carry a slight more than your phone and lipstick, then you cannot yet part ways with the practical bigger bag. These 2 below are pretty amazing! Anna Dello Russo‘s green clutch is absolutely fantastic for a pop of color and that rabbit head tiny tiny bag is sooo cute! My go to details to break a dull look (besides bags & shoes) are always accessories and a pop of color through nail polish or lipstick. Over this weekend I got a little obsessed with heels – The Classic Pumps – which will be one of 2013 Spring’s biggest shoe trend, so I continued to let loose on my creativity and put together so many looks of how to wear these super classic always trendy hot heels. The best part about wearing heels is that no matter what you have on – skirt, dress, ripped jeans, cutoffs, leggings – you will look so fabulous and trendy the moment you put your heels on. A great pair of shoes glams up and transforms any outfit so forget about cool clothes or uber trendy attire. Stick to shoes, fab classic pumps… and you’ll fashion-score %100.

For 2013 Spring I love colored pumps. The powdered blue or light turquoise shades look fantastic. For pops of color and classic twists go for red heels or neon pink. Black is always a safe brilliant way to look gorgeous. And the printed funky pumps are perfect for fun outfits, where no fashion rules apply and it’s a delight to mix and match pints and patterns:

My fave classic pump look: cut-offs, slouchy tops, pile on jewellery and opt for a super sexy color of heels! Also love the cropped tops for 2013 spring and mixing them with super posh skirts, as if you just finished your day at the office, traded the proper blouse for a hot rock’n'roll cropped tee and look amazing in your fab heels and sexy outfit.

With fashion being such a trend roller-coaster - the chunky heels, with their 70′s reminiscence were bound to have their moment this summer. When 70′s themselves are another IT trend, you know.  So it’s pretty safe to say the Chunky Heels are the heels of 2013 hot season having us all look like tiny caricatures in huge shoes. I’m sorry beloved 70′s soles, but I just think you’re the ugliest shoes ever. Yet, I can’t help but love you. Talk about toxic relations, right? Well thank God there’s nothing toxic in my love and hate mood swing over chunky heels, except probably overspending & later feeling remorseful over it. Aaaand one more thing, that’s probably at the core of my tiny dislike with these shoes (it is pretty subjective mind you) is the fact that I cannot wear too high chunky heels, cause I’m already too tall. And so I’m left with those hideous square lower heels that are just so unflattering on any legs and feet. But I will refuse to be a fashion victim and will not ever trade personal taste for fashion-must-haves. be they as posh as hell. I’ll just have to do great with what I’ve got and get used to having my head in the clouds (literally) every now and then.  So let’s get one thing clear then: LOVE them or HATE them? Cause let’s be honest nothing will ever beat hot stilettos and classic pumps. Yet… there’s just something so modern-meets-vintage and feminine-meets-bad-ass chic about these shoes that you (like I) might wanna reconsider your dismissal. Not to mention they’re killing their competition with their comfortable feature. D’ohh. Plus when it comes to styles and designs – the sky’s the limit (even per se… I mean have you seen some of those heels?). All colors and non colors are in, with black chunky models completing a very classic/retro posh look, or those brown’ish shades going more on the boho-chic side, and the colored ones perfect for a shoe statement. Multi-straps, prints, leather, fabrics, colored platforms, crazy heels, color-block et all make us love these ugly suckers. Yeah… I still think some of them are really ugly, but as long as the heel is pretty high and the cut or the shape of the shoe are not too massive – I actually like some of these chunky heels. Let’s have a look at some funky chunky soles and get fashion inspired… For the ”‘how to wear them” part, I think we’ll be safe to assume they go with everything, with one restriction: if you can, please avoid channeling a cartoon figurine who looks like they have a hard time walking. Though even so… it’s the quirkiness inside that makes us all special, right? So to answer the HTW question – these big-heels-with-platform shoes look fantastic with cutoffs, short skirts, mini-dresses (think Twiggy for inspo) and I also love what they look with skinny jeans and a slouchy top – very loose rocknroll style. If however you’ve got other styling ideas just do it, have fun with it. With all this trend invasion hitting us from all corners it’s quite easy to pick your own thing and make it personal, original yet trendy nonetheless. Because nothing beats minimalism, that’s why. And hotness. For the past months or so, you might have noticed that every woman and girl with a penchant for quick tasteful hotness is slightly giving in to BDSM. On their feet. Cuffing your ankles may sound a little too risky but let’s not jump to sexual conclusions, cause it’s got nothing to do with it. Other than the sexy vibe it sends to the viewers - The Ankle Strap Sandals – are just that. Hot heeled shoes with ankle straps and a single strap around your toes. It’s basic, minimalist yet irresistibly sexy and chic. Personally I think they’re the hit shoe of 2013 summer, and the sandals that will never die with time. I remember they were pretty huge in the late ’90′s with those leather pencil skirts and cropped tight tops. You can roll your eyes all you want with this 90s invasion, but you gotta admit its fashion revival and reinvention is tremendous. Top this shoe trend with designers’ bondage, leather et all tiny obsession and you get some pretty cool looks and styles for 2013. And though they might be evening shoes, it’s in these times that breaking boundaries is embraced and permitted. So, when it comes to ankle strap heeled sandals, to hell with dusted fashion rules and faux-pas.

How To Wear Heeled Ankle Strap Sandals? 

Channeling your inner bad-ass girl whose subtle hotness is show stopping – might be one way to go about this. Actually, however you put on these hot shoes – ‘hot & cool route‘ is the only way you’ll be going. A major look right now is balancing styles, clashing and playing with clothes that do not go together, and obtaining a look that’s so eclectic, effortless and trendy, it’s fantastic. Now I remember an old fashion saying: never wear heels with sports wear. Pfff. Fuck that. Unless you’ve tried it, and resist labeling it as confusing, too cheesy or desperate – hold you’re thoughts for a while, and give these babies a try in your most comfy BF jeans or sweatpants. Having said that, ankle strap sandals are made for cutoffs, boyfriend jeans, slouchy extravagant urban clothes like a sweatshirt & skirt, or a denim jumpsuit, or a day-dress and a baseball cap. Not to mention tank-tops, t-shirts and sporty chic outfits. These hot simple, no-fuss-heels add all the drama and sexiness to an otherwise casual look. I don’t know if it’s the way we walk in heels, our instant attitude swing as we climb on hot shoes or it’s just the simplicity yet glamour of this trend – but it don’t get better than this. Being a posh shoe and all… of course this single strap / ankle strap sandal seems to be at its most when paired with its own attire: smart or sexy dresses & skirts. Or evening dresses. D’ohhh. Haven’t seen a celebrity who has not once donned this kinda shoe. And though I’m just a mere mortal – I myself have chosen a bling-bling pair of these sandals for my wedding day. Contrary to belief they are super comfy and perfect if you want to look hot, yet are not planning to peek a boo into the ceiling. They’re not that high. Well unless you opt for the platform with heels ankle sandals, but the classic design I most love is the simple one: 2 straps please. Thank you. When to wear them? 

If we were all Twilight vampires who seductively glide any surface we’d probably never take them off. Our fleeting existence is but a ridiculous obstacle in the way of us looking polished in strappy sandals from morning to evening. Sure, it may be just a little to inconvenient (time wise, if not for anything else. we can walk in sky scrapers at 8 a.m. just fine, thank you) to don these heels on the tube or the bus at peak hours with your bag, newspaper, coffee, iPhone, and headphones to look after, but it’s not impossible. We all know by now women are superheroes and would rather suffer than not nail it style wise. Truth be told, it might be a bit too much in plain day, but if you’ve got just a block to walk, or a few minutes and you’ve reached your destination, why not wear them. Ah… they do look so fabulous with those office trousers and silky tops. Or do you know what? Take them in your bag and ditch your tennis shoes at work for a totally put together look. So yeah… work, going out, cocktail parties, dinners, weddings – that just about covers ‘the when’ of these shoes. I honestly think, shoes wise, the single strap sandals or the ankle strap sandals (however you want to put it) is a massive trend, and its versatility has probably got a lot to do with it. However, the look that’s got a hold of my heart is the urban chic style: minimal heels, boyfriend jeans, cropped top and a bit of bling. We might be a long way from Cinderella days, but who says we haven’t all got a bit of princessy persona underneath all this confident attitude? Cindy-badass-rella anyone?

And I don’t mean sneakers or sandals. I’m talking ankle boot type wedges and variations on this style. It is autumn after all. The reason behind this post is only my current obsession with simple black wedge ankle boots. Not too high (I’m already too tall anyway) yet still baring the same leg elongation effect. You know what I mean. It’s that look – black tights, black wedges (short ankle boots or tight around the ankles) and short dresses, skirts or shorts. It can even work with skinny black jeans. Long-leg-wise? It don’t get no better, let me tell you this. Now, with the research for this article, and the post-shopping conclusions of last week – I seem to be alone in my wedge obsession. Or, a little too late. I am aware of the fact that this shoe trend or look is been there, but has it done that? Already? Shite. Just when I finally saw its potential. Yeah, I couldn’t stand wedges when they were super hot, a while ago. Now, when finding a simple great pair seems to be the task of the century, I adore them. Talk about being out of sync, fashion wise. Buuut, I shall not give up. We all know the cure for a temptation or obsession is to just give in. Right? Continuing my disappointment turned frustration, finding photos to showcase the style I’m referring to, was as difficult as trying to act sober when you’re not. So I did end up making a few concessions and trying to see the appeal in more than simple black wedges. Hence a few statement pieces and the rest… The result: I’m still gonna be shopping for black wedges, with a tiny amendment to my conclusion – I’m also kinda loving the animal print ones. So what is it about the thick & thin soles that I’m finally getting the hang on? Comfort & hotness, that’s what it is. Plus the illusion of supermodel legs, and the fact that they go with anything, from dresses to trousers. They can look retro (they are the epitome of 70s style after all), edgy, posh, simple. What the hell took me this long to realize? And not that it matters or anything, but are they still hot? 

Working in heels. Running errands in heels. Shopping in heels. Going out in heels. Cooking in heels. Cleaning in heels. Sleeping in heels. I swear ANYTHING is far better doing in heels than not. Even the most hateful and disgusting activities might just end up being looked forward to when the sexiest heels in the world are on your feet awaiting for you to conquer the world.

No wonder we wear them more often than not whenever in need of a confidence boost, whether it’s having that career moment in your life or just a fun night out. The sound of your heels on your office corridor is fucking empowering. As it’s the sexy heels we put on with skin tight jeans or flirty dresses when going out for drinks, working on tomorrow’s hangovers and laughing our asses off at the silliest things ever. Even having some simple heeled pumps on when going out for coffee or doing the groceries can turn these rather boring uneventful moments into incredibly fun times when you feel you could rule the world. Just over the weekend I was out with my friends (not in heels this time) and while laughing, chatting and dancing to some rocknroll hits we got to the heels talk (don’t ask how!). And there we were speaking more truth in wine (or whatever) as we were professing our love and lust for these shoes. “I feel empowered when I have my hottest heels on” or “I feel fucking irresistible”. Whatever the quote per se… one thing remains clear, these shoes are made to make us look more appropriate, professional bla, bla, bla, but hot and confident as hell. When it comes to heels I have no doubt whatsoever they look smashing hot with whatever you wear them. Funky weird trends were born out of our addiction to heels: Sweatpants and heels. Hello! Steamy film scenes remain hot to this day, due to some sexy actress wearing something close to nothing and hot heels. Even your grandma’s knickers would most likely look pretty interesting (assuming sexy is too much) if paired with heels.

From pencil skirts to office cut trousers, to skinny jeans, boyfriends ripped styles, skirts, dresses, oversized sweaters or T-shirts, baseball caps or god knows what thing you’d never wear – all look or would look fabulous with the right heels on. The styles to choose from are so many, no wonder we can never have enough, so it’s better to have at least one pair of every style, cause you know when it comes to fashion we can be pretty unstable. Today I’m all about the chunky spiked heeled ankle boots, but tomorrow I may wanna channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw and run through town in those glamorous classic pumps or statement sandals and my pajama pants, cause I really can’t be bothered. And as long as my feet feel rich and sexy, who gives a shit.

And now… just cause it’s a boring Tuesday, let’s indulge into some pure shoes hotness! These days I’m more about basics, and love the stiletto heel on anything. Although my 2 shoe crushes are: the classic pumps & the pointy stiletto booties. Once summer comes I’ll probably be hooked on single strap stiletto sandals. I know they’re kinda hard to walk in, but assuming I could get form A to B in just seconds… I’d live in heels.

Until this mind teleportation gets sorted out I think us girls need to go out more often showing off our killer legs in sexy heels!

You know the saying, ‘Give a girl the right shoes and she’ll conquer the world’? Well designers have certainly put their minds this season to prove this saying right (as if it needed more proving) and to make us more financially irresponsible when it comes to shoes. Like that was possible.

Of course it was. Doh. 10 pairs of shoes for this summer is not such a big deal, especially since some of these styles we already own. Who’s to say we can’t buy extra though? Different colors. Different textures. I mean, Victoria Beckham buys the same dress in every possible color, cause… it’s not the same dress if it’s a different shade. DOH.

Same goes for shoes ladies. I think we can all agree, when it comes to the feet-adorning-expensive-ludicrously-sexy-versus-comfy-soles-with-a-body, ALL women love to spend, and own as many pairs as there are days in a year. Designers know this. So do retail chains. And it seems as if this summer there’s a fashion conspiracy to make us bankrupt in fabulous shoes. Almost ALL styles are IN, and sitting this one out would be such a shame. So let’s get this thing rolling and see which shoes we MUST buy and wear this summer. SPOILER: the best ones have made the cut, from comfy to impossibly sexy, YET other styles are not excluded. With one amendment though, they must make us feel like a sartorial connaisseur/bitch-I-own-this-look! – on heels or not.1. SNEAKERS. They’ve been around since, well forever, but only for the past say… 4 years have they been in the fashion focus of things, paired with anything that crosses our minds from skirts to sequined dresses to suit trousers or sporty attire. (this of course is a no-brainer, but still stands the test of time). No longer a gym or geek’ish shoe, sneakers and trainers go to Fashion Weeks and even on the red carpets (hello Kristen Stewart!). This summer the white sneakers and thick soled ones are a massive hit as well as the bright styles that just pop against a completely mismatched outfit. 2. GLADIATOR SANDALS. This is not Sparta, but this is Fashion Land for sure. Romans meet Greeks on the streets of every town anywhere in 2014. Thin or slightly thick soled sandals made of thousands of straps that cage the feet all the way to the ankles or even knees – are the shoes to wear this summer if you wanna walk for miles, and miles, and miles, while looking very very chic. Black ones are quite the dark edgy statement, nude ones elongate of course, and white ones (in fewer straps) look kinda posh. Colored ones… I don’t fancy, but I’ll take gold or silver styles anytime. Heels too please. :) 3. ESPADRILLES. Ah… the shoes of summer. Of course they’re back, and we already talked about styling them here. 4. CHUNKY SHOES. It wouldn’t be the revival of the 90s without these ones, nor the heavy 70s influence going on for a while now. So boho-chic looks are IN. Well… it only makes more sense to go full-70s, or half-70-half-90s on this one, and do the chunky heeled sandals, the heavy looking shoes, the big square heels. You know, the ugly shoes that actually look great! 5. STILETTOS. Opposites coexist. Extremes meet. Contradictions give birth to great styles. It’s the season of all is in, so if you pass by a girl in 70s shoes on the street and then one in stiletto heeled pumps (you know, the classic ones Kim Kardashian is rarely seen without since her Kanye style period), keep walking, in your sneakers or ballet pumps. You’re not off-trend, and neither are they. Buuuut, I’l say this about the stiletto pumps trend: THANK GOD! We’ve been wearing them forever, and who the hell are we kidding, stilettos look so much better than chunky. And make ANY outfit look absolutely trendy. 6. LACE-UP SANDALS. Err it’s stilettos and high-end gladiators reunion people. A party of luxe & fashion at your feet, which, we’ve already covered here. 7. MULES. Ugly shoes, ugly shoes. (read this as if you sang: ‘smelly cat, smelly cat’). I started off spring with a slight meh for this trend. Today… (as it usually happens with me) I got bitch slapped by the very trend and woke up loving it. Wore mules once, shall wear them again. More on these shoes here. 8. BIRKENSTOCKS. Ooooooooh it’s the infamous shoe! Cindyfuckingrella-turned-queen-over-night shoe. I’m still in denial with this one, yet I bow to those who know how to wear the ugly sandal AND look great! More looks here. 9. ANKLE STRAP SANDAL. The sexy shoe was on a roll last summer and is still up high in the sky, trending big time. More on the hot as hell sandal here. Oh… and it goes with anything. Literally. 10. CUTOUT BOOTS. Remember this post on summer boots? Well… the trend is still in, apparently, but more niche oriented. Errrr… sartorials only, cause seriously who else would wear heavy boots in summer? The look is absolutely fantastic for a more rocknoll edgier style, so why the hell not. What shoes could you not live without, were you to choose?
